It’s that time of year when you’re thinking about getting rid of those winter sweaters, jackets, and boots and imagining a fun vacation to welcome in the warm spring air. Before you go, you will want to make sure that you have everything that will set you up for success. Have a look at our recommendations for spring break:

First up on our list of must haves, is ALL the cute dresses. Personally, we’d say that physically clearing your closet of the dark winter colors and replacing them with light and bright items will not only set the tone for the season but also free up some head space. Physical preparation and organization for the new season is a great way to make sure you have a positive jump start on your Spring Break.

Dresses

First up, a cute and comfy tie waist dress. This dress can go either way. Casual lounging near the pool, or accessorized for a stately night out. It’s a great versatile piece to have when you’re not sure what to wear.

Next up is the all-important maxi dress. Choosing a dress with a light, or in this case, white undertone with pops of floral will certainly show that you’re in the spring spirit. Due to the fact that this is a long dress, you don’t need many accessories to make yourself stand out. For that reason, it’s a great option if you’d like to keep your packing minimal. A great bonus is that the material is not prone to wrinkles and it’s light, stretchy and comfortable.

The next dress on our list has a perfect transition dress for the spring, going into the summer. It comes in a variety of colors and could even double up as a poolside cover-up. This dress is certainly a must-have.

Next up, we found a classic high low dress with a lace top. This dress is perfect for flowing in the warm spring air. The strappy top and crochet detail is perfect for the summer vibe. Going sailing? This is your dress.

Last on our list is this classic semi-formal dress. The color options on this dress keep it classy. We suggest the wine red. Bonus! It has pockets. You can pair this dress with heels and it becomes the perfect option for a night out.

Swimsuits

This swimsuit it perfectly on trend in it’s design. It’s a suit built for lounging in the shaded. It’s got perfect coverage, in case you don’t want to put it all out there. All the color options and pairings are great for showcasing your personal style. Whether you want to go vintage or pastel, they have an option for you.

If you prefer to be more active on your break, this suit is for you. You can comfortably play beach volleyball and slide over to the pool. The wrap top design keeps everything in place, and the fold-over bottoms keep you just “hipster” enough.

Shoes

Espadrille sandals are the statement shoe of the spring. They are fun and funky while adding some height. The particular type pictured above are great neutrals with a pop of glitter to keep it sophisticated (and matching all your outfits).

This sandal may look a little mom-ish. However, if you plan to do a lot of walking during your vacation, then you need a good pair of Merrell’s. They will save your feet, in turn allowing you to make the most of your trip. Another great benefit is that they last. Making this investment will have you thanking yourself in the long run. We promise.

Hats

The ever-popular floppy hat is a must. If not only for pictures, then for an added bit of vacation flair. We would highly recommend beach hat selfies. Before you go, try and personalize them with a custom saying to make your trip unforgettable.

A baseball cap is important. It’s versatile in that you can wear it to keep the hair out of your face on your trip, and you can wear it through the airport on go home day because…we all know that’s going to be rough.

Luggage and Bags

Don’t forget to pack your travel pro with everything you need. This carry on bag is easily large enough to be your only bag. Try to be a minimalist and pack only what you need. We swear by this bag and wouldn’t bring anything else on vacation.

If you need an extra bag small enough to stick under the seat in front of you, then Travelpro has yet another great solution for you. This bag is a cross between a duffle and a tote and is the perfect size to keep your smaller personal items. The compartments and organization inside the bag are also going to set you up for success and keep everything in the correct place.

Towels

If you plan to go out of town, the most likely the towels will be provided for you. However, it can be of benefit to take your own if you plan to go to the beach. The towels pictured above are great if you want to keep it classy and simple. Not every beach towel needs to be neon.

A slight variation from your standard two color strip is a fun touch without getting too crazy. Go for colors that are beachy but not too aggressive. Navy and tan are perfect for laying out in the sand.

Circle shaped towels are the cutest. Match your swimsuit to one of the colors on the towel and you’ve instantly got a great set. This is another item you could have personalized prior to the trip to make the most of it.

Umbrella

A beach umbrella is practical if your vacation destination is within driving distance. If you’re going to a beach that doesn’t have a lot of amenities or is expected to be a bit busy then it might be a good idea to take an umbrella to help define your space as well as provide some shade. They won’t break down or blow away as easily as your standard umbrella.

Water Bottle

When it comes to recommending water bottles, we always stick with hydrocell. If you took our suggestion in the previous article, it may be time to upgrade to a funky spring color. This is the best water bottle to take to the beach because it stands up to the heat. It certainly stood up to being inside a locked car in the Texas summer heat for hours. It kept all of the ice! We are thoroughly impressed and we hope you give it a shot.

Sunglasses

If you’re looking for a stylish and affordable pair of sunglasses, look no further. Sojos is your one stop shop for glasses under $15. They have a variety of styles and colors and are perfect if you’re trying to prepare for a last minute trip.

If you’re looking for a pair that will stand up to the test of time, then you’ll want to go with Ray Ban. They have every design you’re looking for and they protect better than the $15 pair you might otherwise choose. If you actually want to see your vacation and not get blinded by the sun, then this is the way to go.

Conclusion

We hope to have ignited some excitement for your next trip. As we anticipate the changing season and the new adventures it brings, we would love to hear from you.

Where is your spring break destination? How did you pack? Is there anything you would do differently next time?
